INSTYLE takes positive action in cessation of mulesing.Fabric made using wool from a new breed of Merino sheep that don’t require mulesing will soon be available, through the nation’s first-ever ethical wool processing agreement for the furnishings industry. Australia’s long history of mulesing has led to boycotts of local wool products by several fashion designers and manufacturers, but little pressure has been exerted on textile manufacturers for the furnishings industry – despite the extensive use of wool products. However, in an exclusive agreement between leading Australian textile company, INSTYLE Contract Textiles and sheep breeding program the SRS Company Pty Ltd, local consumers will now be able to purchase non-mulesed wool fabric to use in commercial interior fitouts and residential interiors.
